MacGregor Wins Supply Contract for Four Höegh Autoliners PCTCs
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, was selected to supply comprehensive packages of RoRo equipment for four Aurora class pure car and truck carriers (PCTCs) to be built by China Merchant Heavy Industries (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. for Höegh Autoliners.The order has a value of more than $15 million, with the first two vessels scheduled for delivery during the second half of 2024 and the next two in the first half of 2025.

Geogas' New LPG Carriers Are ‘Ammonia Prepared’
A pair of 40,000-cubic-meter-capacity liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers being built for Geogas at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) in South Korea are the first to received Bureau Veritas’ (BV) ‘ammonia prepared’ notation, the classification society said on Wednesday.The HMD hull numbers are 8350 and 8351 and the first delivery will be in June 2023.Ammonia-prepared is applicable to newbuildings, and was developed to support ship owners, designers, shipyards and charterers.

Ocean Infinity Orders Six 85m Robotic Offshore Vessels from VARD
U.S.-based seabed survey and ocean exploration firm Ocean Infinity has hired VARD to design and build a new series of six multi-purpose offshore vessels that will all be operated from shore and will eventually run on green ammonia.This order of six, 85-metre, optionally crewed robotic vessels will take Ocean Infinity’s remote vessel fleet to 23 vessels, which the company says is the largest in the world.

GES Closes Rotterdam Terminal Deal
Global Energy Storage (GES) announced it has closed the transaction to acquire part of the Stargate Terminal from Gunvor Group in Europoort, Port of Rotterdam.GES, which signed a binding agreement to take over the site in November 2021, now owns four Class 1 product tanks totaling over 212 thousand cubic meters with long-term off-take from Gunvor. In addition, GES has acquired the rights to develop approximately 20 hectares of vacant land.

Chinese shipyard New Times Shipbuilding has delivered what is said to be the first ammonia-fuel ready vessel in the world.The newly built Kriti Future, recently handed over to owner Avin International, is a 274-meter-long, 156,500 DWT Suezmax tanker classed by ABS and flying the Greek flag.The ship is currently conventionally fueled but complies with the ABS Ammonia Ready Level 1 requirements, indicating it is designed to be converted to run on ammonia in the future.
