USS McFaul Heads to the Arabian Sea
NORFOLK (NNS) -- The guided-missile destroyer USS McFaul (DDG 74) departed Naval Station Norfolk today on a regularly scheduled deployment to the Arabian Sea to participate in counter-piracy operations. The crew, commanded by Cmdr. Daniel J. Gillen, has been preparing for this deployment since they returned from their last deployment in August 2010. "I have a great crew and we are ready for this deployment," praised Gillen.
Tidewater PSV Named For New Orleans Native Cindy Brown
Platform supply vessel Cindy Brown Tide was delivered to offshore-service giant Tidewater on Oct. 24, and chartered to oil company BP in the Gulf of Mexico. The boat's namesake is someone missed by many. "The vessel was named for Cynthia Niklaus Brown, a wonderful woman who passed away in late 2009 in Houston after being diagnosed with cancer," said Joseph Badeaux, general manager and vice president at Houma, La.-based Quality Shipyards, a subsidiary of Tidewater.

Dick Bollinger â President Emeritus of Bollinger Shipyards-- died at home surrounded by his loving family. Richard N. Bollinger died at home on January 17, 2012 of natural causes. He was President of Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. from his graduation from LSU in mechanical engineering in 1950 until his retirement in 2003, and remained President Emeritus and Director Emeritus of the company until his death.

MEBA Announces Passing of Thomas Cannon
Former Calhoon M.E.B.A. Engineering School Instructor passes away at the age of 81. It is with great sadness that the Marine Engineersâ Beneficial Association (M.E.B.A.) announces the death of long-time friend and colleague, Thomas âTomâ Francis Cannon. Cannon passed away peacefully on January 7, 2012 in Salerno, Italy. He was 81 years old. âTom was an engineerâs engineer.
