Boskalis Acquires Fairmount Companies

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) announces that it has reached an agreement to acquire Fairmount Marine B.V. and Fairmount Ocean Towage Company B.V. (Fairmount) from the French group Louis Dreyfus Armateurs. The transaction values the company at an average multiple of approximately six times EBITDA. Fairmount is a global provider of long distance ocean towage services operating five 205 metric tons bollard pull towing vessels with anchor handling capabilities.
Boskalis Expects Baltic Ace Salvage Contract

The Dutch Department of Public Works intends to award the contract for the salvage of the wreck of the car carrier Baltic Ace to Boskalis and its partner Mammoet Salvage, Boskalis announced in a press release late last week. The wreck and its cargo need to be removed because they pose a threat to the environment and to shipping on the busy route towards the Port of Rotterdam. The Department of Public Works expects the definitive signing of the contract in the second half of March 2014.

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) subsidiary SMIT Salvage has been awarded a contract to remove a damaged jack-up platform from the seabed offshore Angola. Including the award of this contract, SMIT Salvage has acquired approximately USD 70 million of work year to date. During its installation in July 2013, the platform suffered a punch-through and subsequently rolled over and sank to a depth of 30 meters.

IHC Merwede has been contracted by Royal Boskalis Westminster (Boskalis) for the design, construction and delivery of a 23,684kW self-propelled cutter suction dredger (CSD) which will be one of the largest CSDs of its kind in the world. Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has been contracted by Associated British Ports for the capital dredging of the approach channel to the port of Southampton in the United Kingdom. The contract has a value of approximately EUR 35 million and work is due to commence shortly. The contract requires the deepening of the 40 kilometer long approach channel. A total volume of approximately 3 million cubic meters of hard clay, sand and gravel will be removed over a 12 month period.

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) raises its 2013 net profit outlook to at least EUR 360-million. Boskalis says it has concluded an exceptionally good third quarter. Revenue, adjusted for the sale of the 40% stake in Archirodon, and earnings were higher than in the first and second quarter of 2013 against stable market conditions. The order book increased compared to the end of the first half of the year and adjusted for the sale of the 40% stake in Archirodon, to EUR 4.3 billion.

Fairmount Marine’s tugs Fairmount Glacier and Fairmount Expedition have assisted in the installation of FPSO OSX3 in the Tubarão Martelo oilfield offshore Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Both Fairmount tugs were part of a five unit strong fleet of tugs contracted to hook-up the OSX3 to her anchors. Fairmount Marine was contracted by Boskalis Offshore for the offshore support for the positioning of OSX3 during the hook-up operation.

The contract was awarded by Costa Crociere S.p.A. In a unique operation the Costa Concordia can be loaded as a whole onto the Dockwise Vanguard and safely transported to a location where she can be scrapped.
