USCG Cutter Returns from 92-day Deployment
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Boutwell returned home to San Diego after a three-month deployment to the Bering Sea, Thursday morning. During this deployment, the Boutwell's crew conducted fisheries enforcement boardings on commercial fishing vessels and patrolled the Maritime Boundary Line between Russia and the United States. Maritime Boundary Line patrols serve to deter illegal fishing by foreign vessels in the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone.
Harley Brings New Tug to Port of L.A.
Harley Marine Services has brought its most powerful and environmentally friendly tug boat to service the Port of Los Angeles. The Robert Franco arrived in Los Angeles last week and joins four other tugs in the fleet that assist cargo vessels and tankers in and out of the San Pedro Bay port complex. Thailand Freighter Casualty Under Tow
The Royal Thai Navy today called off its search for the remaining missing crewmen of the Bangladeshi cargo ship 'MV Hope', which almost capsized in heavy seas south of Phuket on Thursday night. Warship 3D Artisan Radar Fitted to HMS Iron Duke
Portsmouth-based 'HMS Iron Duke' has returned to sea after a 16-month upgrade and now boasts one of the world's most advanced radar systems. As part of a £100 million programme, Artisan (advanced radar, target indication, situational awareness and navigation) will be fitted to all the Navyâs 13 Type 23s as well as the 2 future aircraft carriers. The Type 23âs replacement, the Type 26 Global Combat Ship , may also carry the system when it enters service next decade.
