The crew of Singaporean cargo ship 'Sima Sapphire' which collided a Vietnamese fishing vessel leaving 3 dead and 5 missing will be prosecuted since data from the ship's black box incriminates its crew, according to the Vietnam Government. Human Remains Recovered Following Costa Concordia Parbuckling

EU, Seychelles Complete Search and Rescue Exercise
On 26 September, the Seychelles Peoples Defense Force, Coast Guard and Air Force, together with the EU Naval Force (EU NAVFOR) Somalia Operation Atalanta and EUCAP Nestor, carried out a search and rescue exercise in Seychelles waters. The operation was coordinated centrally by the Seychelles Coast Guard Maritime Operation Center and held in conjunction with the port visit of the Dutch EU NAVFOR flagship, HNLMS Johan de Witt, to the Seychelles.

HMAS Newcastle Steers for Home
HMAS Newcastle has handed over security operations for Operation SLIPPER in support of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) in the Middle East to HMAS Melbourne. Newcastle has provided maritime security around the Horn of Africa, conducted counter-piracy and anti-smuggling operations in the Gulf of Aden and executed counter-terrorism activities since May 28, 2013. The Guided Missile Frigate handed over to sister ship HMAS Melbourne on September 24, 2013.
Coast Guard to Acquire 6 More Sentinel-class Boats
The Coast Guard has received approval to move forward on the production and eventual deployment of up to 30 fast response cutters (FRC). The decision means the Coast Guard may continue to acquire the FRC as the budget allows and that new plans are in place to support new cutters as they are commissioned. Seven FRCs have been delivered to the Coast Guard, to date, beginning in 2011 and six are commissioned.
