With SCHOTTEL’s new training program, the participants determine the date, location and content. The spectrum extends from courses on individual products to in-depth training with a specific focus, either at company headquarters in Spay or directly on board the trainee’s vessel.

The new program covers product- and application-oriented topics. In the product seminars, technical crew members and maintenance personnel acquire expert know-how on individual SCHOTTEL propulsion systems. In addition, three target groups can obtain further qualifications: specialists for electrical engineering in the field of automation, mechanics in the advanced workshop, and captains/skippers on a simulator or vessel; based on the respective SCHOTTEL systems in each case. The training participants deepen their theoretical knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering in practical applications on state-of-the-art training equipment.

The common feature of all courses is effective learning in small groups. The course instructors are experts with many years of experience who simulate practical scenarios with the participants in a training environment with fully functional equipment. Depending on interests and time availability, every arrangement regarding individual key topics or on-site training is possible by prior agreement. A training at the headquarters of SCHOTTEL GmbH comprises not only full service including accommodation, but also a tour of one of the world’s most advanced production facilities for marine propulsion systems in Doerth/Germany.

Qualified maritime personnel have been professionally expanding their knowledge at the SCHOTTEL Academy since 2011. The constantly growing demand has now made it necessary for the Academy to restructure its training modules while still leaving sufficient scope for customized packages.
