A second tanker with LNG chartered by Russian energy giant Gazprom will arrive at the port of Cove Point in the U.S. December 7, RNI reports.
Gazprom plans to increase its volume of spot deliveries and expand sales of natural gas on the U.S. market to satisfy the growing demand. According to the report, the company is considering sending three to five tankers with LNG to the U.S. in 2006 and is mulling over participation in various regasification projects in the U.S and Canada.
Gazprom is also looking into new LNG markets, namely in China, Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
