Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

May 13, 2005

Rickmers-Linie has experienced an increase in demand for its services; predominantly on its Middle East/India and Transpacific routes. In order to boost capacity, it has recently chartered two vessels, Tarpon Clipper and Miami, on a long-term basis. The multipurpose vessel Tarpon Clipper, renamed Rickmers Doha, has been chartered for two years and will serve the booming trade from Europe to the Middle East, India and Pakistan. Her first voyage as Rickmers Doha will be completed on 14 May with a call in Mumbai. The ship, built in 1979, has a deadweight capacity of approximately 23,200 tons and is equipped with one StĂĽlcken derrick capable of lifting units up to 150 tons. Miami, also built in 1979, will be chartered to Rickmers-Linie until the end of 2005 and will join the fleet in Hong Kong. She will add capacity to the growing transpacific trade where she will perform additional trips from Asia to America and vice versa. Like her sister vessels, Rickmers Dubai, Rickmers Mumbai and Rickmers Chennai, Miami is able to lift up to 250 tons with her StĂĽlcken derrick.
