GT USA welcomed to the Canaveral Cargo Terminal (CCT) the M.V. Seatrade Red on its maiden call to the United States.

The 607-foot M.V. Seatrade Red, a specialized reefer container vessel with a capacity of 2,259 TEUs and 674 reefer plugs, was built at China’s Yangfan Shipyard and officially launched in May 2016 as one of Seatrade Group’s four new Colour Class vessels.

On November 20, Joe Cruise, commercial manager of GT USA; and Alberto Cabrera, senior director, Cargo Sales, Canaveral Port Authority marked the vessel call by presenting commemorative plaques to Captain S. Poryadin of the M.V. Seatrade Red, who thanked GT USA for the warm welcome and opportunity to do business at Port Canaveral.

“Seatrade has been a true partner in the launch of GT USA and the Canaveral Cargo Terminal,” said Cruise. “The BlueStream service, operated by StreamLines, N.V., part of the Seatrade Group, has shown positive growth in cargo volume since the start of container service in January, connecting Port Canaveral with Central America, the Caribbean and Europe.”

“The success thus far of our BlueStream Service is a result of the strong partnership between StreamLines, GT USA, and the Canaveral Port Authority. It seemed fitting to have our U.S. maiden call of our new vessel, the M.V. Seatrade Red, in Port Canaveral at the Canaveral Cargo Terminal," said Howard Posner, general manager of North American General Agents, Seatrade Group’s U.S. Agent.
