NMMA Recognizes JetPac Outboard Propulsion System at IBEX

At the International BoatBuilders~ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX) the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) recognized the Diesel JetPac~ Outboard Propulsion System with the NMMA 2003 Innovation Award for engine and propulsion systems October at IBEX, held in Miami, Fla. The JetPac~ from Outboard Propulsion Systems, LLC is a revolutionary new, self-contained propulsion system designed as an alternative to prop driven outboards, inboards and I/O~s. The JetPac~ is powered by an International Engine 2.8L 150-hp turbo diesel engine. The engine is mounted directly on top of a ten-inch 316 stainless steel water jet driven by a Kevlar~ belt and is enclosed in a watertight housing that provides additional buoyancy. JetPac mounts on the transom of most boats.
