UK Recertifies MPS Training Courses
Maritime Protective Services announced the recertification for another five years of their training courses in the United Kingdom. The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has again, reapproved their Ship Security Officer(SSO) and Company Security Officer(CSO) training courses, while the reaccreditation of their Port Facility Security Officer(PFSO) training course has again, been reapproved from Transportation Security Directorate (TRANSEC) of the Department for Transport. The schedule for courses to be held at the RNLI College in Poole, Dorset, is as follows:
SSO Courses:
• August 10-12, 2010
• October 19-21, 2010
• December 7-9, 2010
CSO Courses:
• July 26-29, 2010
• September 27-30, 2010
• November 22-25, 2010
PFSO Courses:
• July 27-29, 2010
• August 10-12, 2010
• October 19-21, 2010
• December 7-9, 2010
In the United States, Maritime Protective Services has offered certified maritime security courses since 2005, having won recertification from the US Maritime Administration and Coast Guard in 2007 and 2008. For the remainder of 2010, Maritime Protective Services has scheduled several sessions of its Combined Vessel Security Officer(VSO), Company Security Officer(CSO) and Facilities Security Officer(FSO) Certification Course. This combined training course offers top-quality, up-to-date information in a student-driven environment that is based on real life scenarios in maritime transportation security. The remaining sessions for this course, to be held in Boca Raton, Florida, are as follows:
