Russian PM Out of Tune With Arctic Protesters
Medvedev has proposed toughening punishment for illegal entry to fuel and energy complex facilities, reports Arctic info (Russia).
This initiative was proposed by the head of government at a recent meeting on problems of land use and thetransportation of hydrocarbons in the Caspian Sea.
Commenting on the recent arrest of Greenpeace activists protesting against oil production in the Arctic at the Prirazlomnaya platform, the Russian Prime Minister noted that such actions cannot be justified, even when the rationale is care for the environment.
In his view such escapades may be a source of danger to people and technical facilities.
