Steerprop Propulsion Win Orders from Russia & India
Finland's Steerprop wins orders from Russia's Severnaya shipyard & the Bharati shipyard in India for ECO CRP propulsors.
The orders are for the new generation ECO CRP propulsors that are designed to provide the finest efficiency and maneuverability at even the highest speeds. The combined value of these orders is approximately 10 million Euros.
The multi-purpose vessel ordered by the Russian Federation will be powered by two SP 120 ECO CRP -propulsors to operate at speeds of roughly 18 knots. The units have a power rating of 6,000 kW per propulsor and will be classified according to the Arc4 ice class of the Russian Maritime Registry of Shipping (RMRS) classification authority. The vessel will be built in the Severnaya shipyard in Russia, where Steerprop Ltd. will deliver the propulsors in March 2014.
The technical multi-purpose vessel due to be built at the Bharat shipyard will be powered by two SP 60 ECO CRP propulsors with a power rating of 5,000 kW per propulsor. The vessel has been ordered by the Republic of India. The units will be delivered to the Bharati shipyard in autumn 2014.
