W&O’s Emerson Elected Propeller Club VP

W&O, a global supplier to the marine and upstream oil and gas markets for pipe, valves and fittings, valve automation, and engineered solutions, announced that Senior Account Executive Tammy Emerson has been elected as vice president of programs of the Jacksonville Propeller Club. Emerson’s marks the first time in Jacksonville Propeller Club history that there is an all-female Executive Board.

“Tammy has been an outstanding ambassador at W&O for many years, and continually displays her passion to succeed within our company and the marine industry. We are all very proud to see her take on this new leadership role with the Jacksonville Propeller Club,” said Michael Hume, president and CEO of W&O. “We encourage all W&O employees to be actively engaged in various industry organizations, as a means of professional development, and community and industry involvement.”

The Jacksonville Propeller Club recently hosted its Chain of Command event, where the new executive officers were announced to the entire organization. The other new executive board members include President Liz Miller, with Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics, and President-Elect Virginia Bailey, with Horizon Lines.

In this new role, Emerson will be responsible for coordinating the club’s 12 events throughout the year. Some of these events include the State of the Port, Maritime Day Celebration, Student Social and USCG and CBP Appreciation Day. She will also develop and implement plans to ensure full attendance at all meetings. Emerson will also continue to chair the annual Pirate Party Fundraiser, which raises money for the Safe Harbor Boys Home located in Jacksonville.

Emerson has been an active member of the Jacksonville Propeller Club since 2010, and previously served as vice president of sponsorship and chairperson of the annual Pirate Party Fundraiser. She is also a member of Jacksonville Area Ship Repair Association and the Propeller Club – Port of Tampa.
