Propeller Club Names Cullather as EVP

The Board of Directors of the International Propeller Club of the United States has selected Mr. John M. Cullather as its new Executive Vice President.

In the role of Executive Vice President, he will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the International Propeller Club, will oversee all activities and functions of the International Propeller Club of the United States, and will serve as the primary liaison to the Club’s 70 port chapters worldwide. Along with the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee and individual Propeller Club ports around the world, he will develop and implement a strategic direction to further the goals of the International Propeller Club.
Mr. Cullather is a well-known figure in the maritime community. He served for more than thirty-two years as a professional staff member in the U.S. 

House of Representatives as Staff Director of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, and the Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation. During his career in Congress, he advanced policy and legislation involving all aspects of marine transportation including the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002, numerous Coast Guard Authorization bills, and the complete recodification of Title 46, U.S. Code which rewrote all of the Coast Guard’s vessel inspection, manning and licensing laws. Among his many honors, he was awarded the Distinguished PublicService Award from the U.S. Coast Guard, the Samuel Plimsoll Award from the editors of Professional Mariner Magazine, and the President’s Award from the National Association of Boating Safety Law Administrators.

John will help us advance the goals of the maritime industry by growing our membership, providing enhanced networking opportunities, and developing and implementing the strategic goals of the Club.”
