Hogia Ferry Announces Promotions

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

January 20, 2005

The management at Hogia Ferry Systems changes positions. Sales manager Alf-Håkan Romar takes over as new managing director at Hogia Ferry Systems. The company’s founder and present managing director, Stefan Engelholm, is instead to focus on system development. He will also continue as a member of the boards of Hogia Ferry Systems Ab and Oy Hogia Data Ab.

Stefan Engelholm, managing director of Hogia Ferry Systems in Korsholm (Vaasa) has announced that he is to resign as managing director of the company at the general meeting of shareholders in April 2005.

Hogia Ferry Systems was founded by Engelholm in 1981 – known then as Oy Consy Ab – and he has led the company since then.

”I have been the manager of the same company for 24 years which is a long time in the Finnish computer industry,” says Engelholm. “As HFS has grown, I have had to spend more and more time travelling and also I have had to devote myself increasingly to administrative tasks. Now I am going to focus more on the systems themselves, the area that I am actually most interested in.”

Engelholm’s successor as managing director will be the company’s sales manager Alf-Håkan Romar.

”I first came into contact with HFS in 1994 when I was one of its customers,” says Alf-Håkan Romar. “I have been working for the company since 2002. The firm has grown and is now one of the largest suppliers of reservations and administration systems for shipping companies. Of course, it will be an exciting challenge for me now to take over after Stefan, inheriting the company with many competent employees with a lot of know-how.”

Stefan Engelholm will continue to be a member of the boards of Hogia Ferry Systems Ab and Oy Hogia Data Ab. With his long experience and extensive knowledge of systems, he will also act as a Senior Systems Specialist when the Hogia group now broadens its business activities to also include terminal management systems.
