Seven fishermen from neighboring Scottish villages -- Whithorn and Garlieston -- including two brothers and a cousin, were presumed drowned last Wednesday after their scallop trawler sank off Britain's west coast. Sea rescue teams using sonar picked up what they believed to be the wreckage of the 70-ft. (21-m) Solway Harvester on the sea bed some 11 miles southeast of the Isle of Man between Britain and Ireland. Coastguards called off a search for survivors, saying no one would have been able to last long in the Irish sea's icy waters.
The boat was reportedly one of the largest and best equipped in the local fleet.
