Eniram Presents New Products at CSM 2013
Eniram demonstrate 2 new products to help cruise ship operators with optimum speed & engine load management.
At the Cruise Shipping Miami (CSM) Expo, March 11-14, 2013, Eniram, a Finnish provider of energy management solutions and data analytic services to the shipping industry, introduce two innovative fuel-saving solutions based on the established its vessel platform.
“OSA integrated with weather forecasting features is already revolutionizing vessel speed optimization” said Philip Padfield, CEO of Eniram. “We are also launching ELA, the newest addition to Eniram’s vessel performance management applications, and the first system capable of delivering real-time engine load optimization guidance.”
These new performance monitoring tools have been designed and developed in conjunction with some of Eniram’s existing cruise line customers and address the industry’s need to optimize voyage speed profiles while maximizing fuel efficiency to meet demanding cruise itineraries. At a time when bunker prices and commitment to reduce carbon footprints are rising, the leading cruise operators are committed to the development and adoption of technology to improve marine energy efficiency. Eniram is trialling the speed and engine load applications with several leading cruise customers, and recording some excellent fuel saving results.
Eniram’s New Offerings:
• Eniram Optimum Speed Assistant (OSA) combined with weather forecasting helps vessel operators and shore side managers to effectively implement, manage and sustain an optimized speed profile on a single vessel or across a fleet taking account of factors such as ECA zones, weather conditions and fuel price differences.
• Eniram Engine Load Assistant (ELA) helps ship operators to monitor fuel consumption in relation to how hard each engine is working. This helps determine the optimum engine combination (e.g. running full power, or switching one off) to match the required loads while maximizing fuel efficiency for the prevailing conditions including weather, currents and journey time.
Eniram claims that the two modules together offer the most optimal route, speed profile and engine configuration for any given voyage using model algorithms and up-to-date weather and sea current forecasts for efficient voyage planning.
