OutSmart plans to open Germany’s first independent operations centre for offshore wind farms towards the end of this year

The 24/7 centre’s first customer is municipal utility Trianel who will use the base for the under-construction 200MW Borkum West 2 wind farm in the North Sea inform '4C Offshore'.

The centre, to be based in Emden, will be equipped with tailored IT solutions for offshore wind operations, maintenance and logistics.
“OutSmart’s Offshore Operations Centre in Emden fills in the requirements of all operational aspects of our Borkum West 2 Offshore wind park,” said Trianel managing director Klaus Horstick.

OutSmart, an independent service provider for off and onshore wind farms, said it was seeking to capitalise on current activity in the German North Sea.

OutSmart Asset Management managing director Dennis Schirike said: “Our dedicated team and our IT systems enable us to coordinate different wind farms with different control systems at the same time."
