ABS Nautical Systems LLC has released a new version of its advanced ABS SafeNet operational and management system software, developed to meet the needs of the offshore industry. The new system has been released as ABS SafeNet Offshore.
ABS SafeNet Offshore is equally applicable to mobile and fixed units, to ship shaped drilling and production units, to spars, TLPs, semisubmersibles and platforms.
"This is a very flexible program," says Jack Kitchura, president of ABS Nautical Systems. "Its advanced, integrated, modular design means it is equally applicable to the operator of a very small fleet as it is for the largest operator. Each can select just those modules that meet their specific needs. But whether the operator chooses two or twelve modules, all the information is completely integrated."
Of equal importance, the sophisticated Replication Manager allows the operator to maintain a completely synchronized database between multiple sites including units, both moving and fixed, supply warehouses and shore based offices in a single region or around the world.
Other features include the structural maintenance and unit drawings modules, which help operators implement targeted asset management plans, which can lead to increased reliability of the unit. But the real power of this module is it gives the operator a potent tool to anticipate future failures or problems.
Other modules within ABS SafeNet Offshore address machinery maintenance and repair, purchasing and inventory, crew management, code compliance and document management for all types of offshore units.
ABS SafeNet Offshore also offers extensive financial reporting capability, allowing an operator to track budgets and expenditures.
