U.K. Nuclear Sub Hits a Rock

A Royal Navy nuclear-powered submarine on a training mission in the Red Sea was damaged when it hit a submerged rock on Monday, the Ministry of Defence said according to a report published on www.timesonline.co.uk. The nuclear reactor was reportedly unaffected and none of the 112 crew was reported to be hurt, but the HMS Superb, a 4,900-tonne Swiftsure class “hunter killer” submarine, is said to have suffered extensive damage to its sonar equipment.
