Norwegian Navy selects BASS CrewNet and SAFIR

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

January 14, 2004

BASS and The Royal Norwegian Navy (RNN) entered an agreement for delivery of SAFIR as the tool to administer undesired occurrences according to the ISM code. BASS CrewNet will become RNN’s competence and crew planning tool. The software will be used throughout all Navybases and vessels including the Coastguard. This will also include the newbuilding program such as the new frigates arriving from 2005. BASS and sub-contractors (Webstep and BMC) arrange integration between the existing personnel database and the onboard Planned Maintenance System as well as consulting related to a full implementation of the ISM concept in RNN. The RNN will incorporate the ISM code into their own safety-regime.
