Norwegian Dawn Returns to NYC
On April 16, NCL's Norwegian Dawn experienced extremely rough weather and was hit by a freak wave, causing two windows to break in two different cabins. There was flooding in 62 cabins and four passengers were hurt with cuts and bruises. According to NCL, the safety and integrity of the ship was in no way compromised by this incident. Following the incident, the Norwegian Dawn was diverted to Charleston, S.C. to conduct repairs. The Norwegian Dawn left Charleston, S.C. early Sunday morning after completing repairs to the two broken windows. U.S. Coast Guard inspected the repairs and the vessel sailed back to New York. The vessel arrived on Monday amidst a flurry of media attention.
