McHale Named VP at Northrop Grumman

Northrop Grumman Corporation has named Gaylene M. McHale vice president and program manager of large deck amphibious ship programs for the Ship Systems sector, effective immediately. McHale will manage the large deck amphibious shipbuilding programs, consisting of LHD and LHA class ships. In this role, she will have overall program responsibility for the construction and delivery of the multipurpose amphibious assault ship Makin Island (LHD 8) and the contract award, design, construction and delivery of LHA 6. Previously, she managed the construction of New Orleans (LPD 18) and the preliminary design and development for LHA 6.

McHale joined Northrop Grumman in April 2004 after spending more than 20 years at General Dynamics' Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine where she held several positions in construction, design, procurement and program management. She earned a bachelor's degree from Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., and a master's degree in business administration from New Hampshire College in Manchester, NH.
