The National Ocean Industries Association (NOIA) announced it is accepting nominations for the 2016 Safety in Seas Awards competition. The Safety in Seas Awards honor excellence in offshore safety culture and practices.
"Even during tough times brought on by low commodity prices, safe offshore operations remain the primary goal of our members. The safety culture approach to conducting operations offshore is a core value industry-wide and is highly encouraged by regulators,” said NOIA President Randall Luthi.
NOIA confers two distinct safety awards annually to recognize excellence among those who, by their actions, design or influence, have contributed to improving the safety of life offshore. The Culture of Safety Award honors overall organizational immersion in and commitment to safety, which has resulted in remarkable, measurable, and sustained safety performance over a prolonged period of time. The Safety Practice Award recognizes specific technologies, approaches, methods or projects with direct and demonstrable impacts on improving safety. Nominations for the 2016 Safety in Seas Awards are being accepted through Friday, February 19, 2016. More information on the Awards and nomination forms are available online here. Nominees must be NOIA member companies.
An independent selection committee will determine the nominee from each award category that has made the most important contribution to safety of life offshore. The 2016 NOIA Safety in Seas Awards will be presented in Washington, D.C. during the association’s annual meeting to be held April 20-22, 2016.
