DP World Exec Withdraws Nomination

Reports indicate that an executive with a Dubai-owned company withdrew his nomination as head of the agency that oversees ports in a letter to President Bush on Monday. David C. Sanborn, of Virginia, to be Administrator of the Maritime Administration, vice William Schubert, which was sent to the Senate on January 18, 2006. After the nomination, DP World's planned purchase of a company that runs six major U.S. port facilities became the focus of a political controversy. Source: HK Law, AP
