'Navigator of the Seas' to Homeport Port of Galveston
Port of Galveston say that Royal Caribbean International is to base their Voyager-class ship year-round from Galveston, from November 2013.
The Navigator of the Seas, due for an extensive drydock refit in January 2014, will replace Mariner of the Seas to offer Texas vacationers roundtrip seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries throughout the year.
âThe repositioning of Navigator of the Seas to the Port of Galveston represents Royal Caribbeanâs confidence in the Port of Galvestonâs efficient cruise operations and ability to attract passengers on its Voyager class ships,â said Mike Mierzwa, Port Director . âWe are excited that Royal Caribbean has chosen to sail year round from Texasâ Star Cruise Portâ.

The Port of Galveston, Texasâ Star Cruise Port serves as the primary point of embarkation for cruises to the western Caribbean and the Bahamas and handles over 1 million cruise passengers annually. Four cruise lines, Carnival Cruise Lines, Disney Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Royal Caribbean International, sail from the port.
