Krill Wins Multi-boat Contract for Hydrovias

Krill Systems Inc., a compny in Vessel Fuel Measurement and Monitoring Systems (VFMMS), announces that it was awarded a contract to supply and install multi-point VFMMS systems onboard inland waterways push-boats being constructed by Uzmar Shipyard in Izmit, Turkey for Hydrovias do Brazil.

The 45.6m LOA push boats, from the drawing board of naval architect Robert Allan Ltd., will be diesel-electric powered with azimuthing drives and propellers in nozzles configured for shallow water operation and will be used for inland logistics in South America.  The push boats will be part of large scale convoys transporting iron ore from Corumba in Brazil to Argentina and Uruguay through the Paraguay-Parana waterway. The total distance is over 2,500km, much of it navigating through difficult river sections which make excellent maneuverability a necessity.

In response to the challenging navigational issues to be faced by these vessels, Krill Systems will be supplying data collection and transmission, in real time, of ECDIS information, Depth Soundings, Speed Log, Rate of Swing, AIS and GPS position in addition to engine room information, including Main Engines and Generators Fuel Flow, Tank Levels and Switchboard Sensors.

Krill Systems uses Microsoft SQL server database technology to record all sensor data with two-second resolution and storage capacity of at least one year with unlimited roll-over capacity (ROC). Any communication system including Cellular or Satellite internet access, supporting standard SMTP email protocols, may be used to transmit customizable reports and sensor data menus, in Excel format, to any number of operators, anywhere, with no monthly fees or charges.
