Morris Takes the Helm at SAFE Boats
SAFE Boats International (SAFE) said that Dennis Morris has joined the organization as President and CEO. Morris brings with him an extensive background in Business Development and International marketing within the defense industry and experience leading large and small businesses.
Before joining SAFE Boats International, Morris held the position of President and CEO of Allen-Vanguard Corporation, the leader in providing solutions for defeating terrorist and extremist threats. The company’s offerings include counter threat services and equipment in support of security forces in more than 100 countries, including the bomb suit featured in the film “Hurt Locker.”
Prior to Allen-Vanguard, Dennis spent over 10 years with BAE Systems, most recently as President of the Global Tactical Systems division and Chairman of the Board of Land Systems South Africa (a joint venture business within GTS).
Dennis served as an officer in the U.S. Navy onboard a nuclear submarine and at the Pentagon as the Flag Aide to the Head of US Submarine Programs. Later he served as a Naval Reservist and his assignments supported NATO operations.
He received an MBA from Georgetown University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Houston.
Concurrent to Dennis’ arrival, SAFE Boats co-founder and CEO Scott Peterson has transitioned to the position of Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. As Chairman, Scott will work closely with SAFE’s executive leadership team to expand customer relations and identify new opportunities to support future company growth.
“We are excited to have Dennis Morris take the helm as Chief Executive Officer as I assume the role of Chairman,” says Scott Peterson. “His impressive background and proven leadership in the defense industry make him a great choice to lead SAFE Boats International to a successful future as the company continues to grow. He is an excellent match for our company culture, values and vision.”
