The LUPO Class frigate Alimirante Brion (F-22), which is undergoing a modernization for the Venezuelan Armada by Northrop Grumman's Ingalls Operations, Pascagoula, Miss., sails through the
Gulf of Mexico during the ship's first sea trial, October 17 to 18, 2001. During the sea trial, various systems were tested including propulsion, electronics and communications. The ship's combat systems will be tested during a second
sea trial in November. Ingalls is also performing similar work on a second
LUPO Class ship, Marsical Sucre (F-21), which has completed first trials and goes on combat systems trials later this month.
