Mitsubishi Names New US West Coast Distributor
Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine America (MTEA) has appointed Cascade Engine Center, located in Seattle, as its marine engine division's new West Coast distributor effective August 11, 2020
Cascade Engine Center will have responsibility for Alaska, Washington State, Oregon, California and Hawaii.
“The addition of the Mitsubishi Heavy Duty engine lineup to Cascade Engine Center will complement our current commercial engine business, allowing us to support most commercial marine applications on the West Coast,” stated Tim A. Hess, president of Cascade Engine Center, which has been active in the commercial marine business since 1961.
Mitsubishi Heavy Duty Commercial Marine Engines range from a 14.6 liter, 429 hp in line six-cylinder marine propulsion engine to a 65-liter, V-16, 1,676 hp marine propulsion engine suitable for a wide range of heavy-duty applications.
“Mitsubishi engines are all EPA compliant and meet EPA Tier 3 and Tier 4 emission requirements, with simple mechanical engine controls,” stated Mitsubishi Marine manager Rodrigo Teixeira, “and we typically offer 20% or more displacement than most of our competition.” These features make the Mitsubishi Propulsion Engines suitable for many heavy-duty applications such as pushboats, tugs, fishing vessels, and passenger and car ferries.
MTEA is also responsible for the distribution of Mitsubishi Marine Propulsion Engines in the rest of the Americas, including Canada, Mexico, Central and South America. MTEA is a part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Engine Turbocharger, LTD, a global corporation headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and a major division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Mitsubishi has been manufacturing marine diesel engines for more than 70 years.
