Merchant Navy Training Board achieves ISO Certification

The Merchant Navy Training Board (MNTB) has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification, the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system.

ISO 9001 certification helps organizations ensure they offer consistently high-quality services to the satisfaction of customers, management and employees. It also ensures the continuous improvement of the business.

The certification coincides with the launch of the MNTB’s new Center Recognition service, which recognizes quality training centers in the U.K. and abroad with an MNTB kitemark.

“The MNTB wanted to prove to the industry that our new Recognition Service is underpinned by strictly controlled quality processes and procedures.  The awarding of ISO 9001 certification confirms to all those training establishments considering center or course recognition that our rigorous standards of assessment and evaluation uphold our reputation for quality training and assessment,” explains Kathryn Neilson, MNTB Director.

“The message ISO 9001 certification sends out to new and existing customers is an important one too. An independent verification of our quality management system demonstrates our commitment to not just quality but to customer service and continuous improvement in seafarer training,” she continues.
