Harland & Wolff has secured a contract with Canada-based Cenovus Energy for the mid-life upgrade of the SeaRose FPSO vessel. Singapore's Pavilion Energy has signed a 10-year deal to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from BP's Singapore unit starting in 2024, the companies said on Wednesday, as the city-state seeks to diversify its gas supply sources.The long-term binding LNG sale and purchase agreement (SPA) is for the supply of about 0.8 million tonnes of LNG a year to Singapore, Pavilion and BP said in a joint statement. Australian oil and gas firm Woodside and its Pluto LNG joint venture partners have delivered their first cargo of carbon offset condensate to commodity trading company Trafigura.The cargo was loaded at Pluto LNG plant in Western Australia, which processes gas from the offshore Pluto and Xena gas fields.The carbon dioxide equivalent emissions associated with extraction, storage and shipping of the 650,000- barrel cargo will be offset through a combination of efficiency measures, which reduce emissions, and surrender of high-quality carbon offsets, Woodside said.

Utilization for the fleet has remained depressingly low since the first oil and gas downturn in 2014, currently hovering around 33% for the global fleet with a lift capacity of over 800 tonnes, according to IHS Markit’s ConstructionVesselBase. Fixed platform installation work, the traditional market driver for the heavy-lift fleet in oil and gas, has seen demand fall significantly.
