Vard Secures Five Vessels Order for Oil and Gas Sector

Norwegian shipbuilder Vard has signed a contract for the design and construction of five Walk-to-work vessels with an international customer, which will be put to service for offshore oil and gas platforms.The vessels are of VARD 3 32 design, a design developed by VARD in close collaboration with the unnamed customer.The five Walk-to-work vessels will provide maintenance, supply, and operational services to offshore platforms in the oil and gas sector.The vessels will be equipped with a diesel/electric and battery-hybrid propulsion system…

Ampelmann to Deploy Second Gangway for World's Largest Floating Wind Farm

Ampelmann, a Dutch-based firm providing offshore access solutions, will soon be deploying a second gangway to support the construction of the Hywind Tampen floating wind farm in Norway.The first gangway, an E1000 system, was fitted to OSCV Siem Barracuda in early December. IWS Fleet AS has ordered two more Walk-to-Work commissioning service operations vessels (“CSOV”) from China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd.The company said Tuesday that the two newbuilds would be delivered in the second quarter of 2025. Safeway Wins W2W Deal with Heerema to Support Huge Taiwan Offshore Wind Farm

Safeway won a contract from Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) to supply a Safeway Seagull type motion compensated gangway system for installation on the CSV Normand Baltic.The contract is significant for Safeway as it is the first contract for HMC, and it is also the first time the Safeway Seagull system with 3D crane function will be deployed to transfer personnel and cargo during an offshore wind project in Taiwan.Heerema was awarded a promising contract for a very large wind farm off the coast of Taiwan.
