CareGO Gets Electrification Job for Rotterdam Container Terminal Expansion

APM Terminals has awarded civil works and electrification contract for Maasvlakte II container terminal expansion in Rotterdam to CareGo, a consortium of ABB, Dura Vermeer and GMB.The expansion will cover a 51-hectare container yard, which will double the capacity of the terminal, making it one of the most advanced fully automated terminals in the world.The 51 hectares will consist of 31 additional yard blocks, quay area, truck and rail areas, and associated infrastructure.The Rotterdam Port Authority has already constructed 1,000 meters of new deep-sea quay for the expansion of the facility.

Saudi PIF, China's COSCO Buy Stake in Red Sea Gateway Terminal

The Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, and COSCO SHIPPING Ports Ltd have completed a deal to buy a combined 21.2% stake in Red Sea Gateway Terminal Ltd from Saudi Industrial Services Co (SISCO).SISCO will receive gross proceeds of 556.5 million riyals ($148 million) for the deal, it said in a statement.The proceeds will support the company’s strategic objectives of enhancing shareholder returns and optimizing its portfolio, it said.LogiPoint also divested its 4% direct equity stake in the terminal and will receive gross proceeds of 105 million riyals, it said.JPMorga

Shell to Shut Down Philippine Refinery and Turn It into Import Terminal

Bulgargaz to Book Capacity at Greek LNG Terminal

Citgo: Oil Tanker Caught in Dispute Enters International Waters

U.S. refiner Citgo said the Gerd Knutsen oil tanker, which had been carrying crude claimed by both the company and Venezuelan parent PDVSA, departed Venezuela's Jose Terminal on Thursday and entered international waters on Friday morning.The tanker over the past week discharged its 1 million barrel cargo, worth some $57 million, in Venezuela after being stranded for over a year off the South American country's coast amid fallout over U.S. sanctions on PDVSA, designed to force out socialist President Nicolas Maduro.The tanker discharged after Citgo, now controlled by the Venezuelan opposition, sought an order from a U.S. court seeking to block the tanker from returning its cargo to PDVSA.

Enestas Plans First Dual LNG Terminal in Mexico

Mexican liquefied natural gas (LNG) company Enestas is planning to build the first first dual LNG and liquid ethane port terminal in Mexico.The new facility is located on the Gulf Coast and unloads directly from vessels up to 22,000 m3 in size. The facility features an automated storage and unloading system. Subsequently, Enestas transports the cryogenic product to the customer's facility."Based on this success, the company is planning to build more LNG terminals along the Mexican coastlines to further promote and facilitate the use of LNG as a marine fuel and for domestic distribution," said the company.Enestas believes LNG is the most cost effective and ecological long-term solution for complying with the IMO 2020 sulfur cap.

DP World Buys North American Terminal

Dubai-based port operator DP World announced it has completed the acquisition of Fraser Surrey Docks in Canada from Macquarie Infrastructure Partners (MIP) alongside its partner Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ).The enabler of global trade said in a press release that said the acquisition complements its footprint in Canada, which also includes terminal operations in Vancouver, Nanaimo, Prince Rupert and St John’s, without disclosing the value of the purchase.The integrated coast-to-coast platform provides customers with bulk, breakbulk and general cargo services.DP World's global strategy is to become a trade enabler and solutions provider as the company looks to participate across a wider part of the supply chain.

Elengy Acquires Fosmax LNG

Elengy, a subsidiary of French energy group Engie, has acquired French energy group Total's 27.5% stake in Fosmax LNG, owner of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal at Fos Cavaou in southern France.Elengy now owns 100% of its three LNG terminals: Fos Cavaou, Fos Tonkin and Montoir-de-Bretagne. Mammoet Completes Mexican Terminal Expansion

Mammoet, a Dutch company specialized in engineered heavy lifting and transport of over-sized and heavy objects, said that its  team has successfully completed the second phase of the relocation of several shipping container cranes for Hutchison Ports ICAVE as part of a planned port expansion in Veracruz, Mexico.Mammoet used 56 axle lines of SPMT to transport two ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and ten rubber-tired gantry cranes (RTGs). The completion of the crane relocations has increased the port’s capacity to more than 95 million tons. Belgian dredging group DEME has been awarded a contract as part of a joint venture for the widening of the Kiel Canal in Germany.Two DEME subsidiaries are to carry out marine dredging works for the €99m (£84m) widening of a 4km stretch of the Kiel Canal. Qatargas Delivers LNG Cargo to Indian Terminal

Doha-based liquefied natural gas (LNG) producer Qatargas has supplied a commissioning LNG cargo for India's newest LNG receiving terminal, Mundra.The cargo was loaded in Ras Laffan on 17 January 2020 on the Q-Flex LNG vessel, Murwab, with an overall cargo carrying capacity of 216,000 cubic meters. It arrived at Mundra terminal on 22 January 2020.Mundra is the second LNG terminal that Qatargas helped commission in India within the past year. It followed an earlier commissioning cargo which was delivered by the Company to the Ennore LNG receiving terminal, near the southern Indian city of Chennai, in February 2019.The Mundra terminal is located in Adani Ports and Special Economic zone in the Kutch district of the western Indian state of Gujarat.

Hamburg Unveils 1st Phase of Elbe Expansion
