Mermaid Secures $10M Loan to Repay Subsea Vessel Acquisition

U.S. Gulf of Mexico: Injured Crewmember Medevaced from Dive Support Vessel

The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced an injured crewmember from a dive support vessel about 17 miles south of Pecan Island, Louisiana, on Friday evening.Coast Guard Sector New Orleans watchstanders were notified at 8:15 p.m. Friday that a male crewmember in his 30s, aboard the dive support vessel Ms. Kerci, reportedly sustained severe injuries to the leg. Armstrong Delivers Dive Boat to DNR

A new monohull dive compliance vessel Salish Scout was recently accepted by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) after successful launch and sea trials in Port Angeles Harbor.In a competitive solicitation process last year, DNR selected Armstrong Marine’s proposal to design and build multiple vessels for their Marine Law Enforcement program. Blue Robotics Intros Ping360 Scanning Sonar

California-based Blue Robotics announced its newest product, the Ping360 Scanning Sonar, which offers small remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROVs) the ability to navigate in low visibility water conditions.The Ping360 is a mechanical scanning sonar – it uses a small acoustic transducer mounted on a motor that rotates it in one-degree increments.As it rotates, it transmits and receives acoustic pulses to build a 360-degree image of the surroundings. Bourbon's Creditors Seal Restructuring Deal

 The creditors of indebted French marine services company Bourbon reached a restructuring deal that would give them control of the company, protect jobs and draw new liquidity.Bourbon has been hurt by market overcapacity and a fall in spending on services by upstream oil and gas companies, but the deal with its creditors lifted its shares.Bourbon's stock rose 24% in early session trading, although it is still down around 36% so far this year.The creditors said their restructuring deal would result in the conversion of around half of 2.7 billion euros ($3 billion) of debts into new capital for

One of the world's most advanced diving support vessels has undergone a comprehensive power plant refurbishment and maintenance program.Engineers undertook the 30,000 running hour major service on the generator engines on board the 140-meter-long Subsea 7 Seven Atlantic, said power specialist Royston who completed the diesel engines overhaul.The work by Royston saw the Wartsila W7L32 diesel generator No.5 disassembled to install new cylinder heads, air start valves, indicator cocks, injectors and cylinder seals.

TechnipFMC Acquires DSV Deep Discoverer

TechnipFMC announced Monday it has acquired a newbuild diving support vessel (DSV) Deep Discoverer. The vessel will primarily service the North Sea diving construction and inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) markets.The company signed a deal with VARD shipyard in Norway to purchase the vessel in late 2018. Seaspan to Invest $200 Mln into Offshore Vessel Owner Swiber

Singapore-based offshore contractor Swiber has signed a $200 million deal with box ship player Seaspan Corporation, just days after it announced the expiry of a term sheet for a share swop arrangement with Australian power generation firm, Interlink Power & Energy Holdings.In a stock exchange announcement, the offshore construction and services group said that it has signed with Seaspan a binding term sheet on October 3, 2018, which is subject to definitive agreements being entered into on mutually agreed terms.
