DP Upgrade for Saipem 7000

One of the world's largest semi-submersible crane and pipelaying vessels has arrived in the Netherlands for an extensive six-month upgrade.The Saipem 7000 is in Damen Verolme Rotterdam (DVR) for a dynamic positioning system overhaul to meet the new closed ring DP3 configuration and ABS EHS-P notation. Under DP3 EHS-P notation, the vessel will achieve an exceptional level of redundancy with four independent redundancy groups systems.The project will include the upgrade and modification of the vesselā€™s power system for load sharingā€¦

Aoka Mizu FPSO Needs Extra Repairs

The floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit Aoka Mizu's planned stop in Algeciras, Spain will be extended for additional repair work, said U.K. based Hurricane Energy.The FPSO, which will be used at Hurricane's Early Production System development of the Lancaster field west of Shetland, is in Algeciras for planned personnel changes, bunkering and other commissioning activities. Stena Drilling Rig Gets an Engine Overhaul

The first phase of a new diesel engine maintenance and service program has been completed for vessels owned by international drilling contractors Stena Drilling, power specialist Royston said.Work on the Wartsila 16v25 No.3 generator on board the Class 3 semi-submersible drilling platform Stena Don saw cylinder heads, pistons and conrods overhauled, as part of an extensive 20,000 running hour service.This required a four-man engineering team working day and night shifts on the vessel while it was located at Scapa Flowā€¦

C-Innovation Opens New Dock Facility

C-Innovation, LLC (C-I), an aļ¬ƒliate of Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO) and its family of companies, said it has opened a new dock facility in Port Fourchon, La., to expand the capabilities of its Subsea Services group.The new facility is located at the end of AJ Estay Road and was previously known as the Martin South Terminal.With more than 550 ft of open quayside, Bayou Lafourche is a main entrance into the facility, which is supplied with a Manitowoc 777 crane and forklifts for rapid mobilizations of C-Iā€™s subsea construction and inspectionā€¦
