Mozambique Awards Rovuma LNG Project Gig

Mozambique Rovuma Venture (MRV) has awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction contract to a consortium of Fluor, JGC, and TechnipFMC for its Mozambique Rovuma LNG Phase 1 project in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique.MRV, a joint-venture composed of Eni, ExxonMobil and CNPC, holds a 70% interest in the exploration and production concession of Area 4, with Galp, Kogas and Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) each holding a 10% interest.The Rovuma LNG Project will produce, liquefy and market natural gas from three reservoirs of the Mamba complex located in the Area 4 block in the Offshore Rovuma Basin. QP Issues Tender for 4 Mega LNG Trains

The state owned oil and gas company Qatar Petroleum has issued Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) tender for liquid products storage and loading facilities of the North Field Expansion (NFE) Project.The NFE Project involves the addition of four mega LNG trains as part of Qatar Petroleum's plans to expand the State of Qatar's LNG production from 77 million to 110 million tons per annum by 2024.New facilities covered under this tender include a new propane storage tank, vapor recovery compressors for propane and butane tank refrigeration, a plant condensate storage tank, a MEG storage tank and distribution system, a new liquid products export berth and liquid product lines from the main NFE plant location to the liquid products storage area.Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi…

DEME, Eiffage Win Contract for French OWP

The consortium including DEME and Eiffage Métal has won an engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract for 80 foundations at the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm in France.The scope includes the design, fabrication, and installation of full face drilled monopile foundations. The consortium contract has a total value of more than EUR 500 million.Design activities already kicked off in order to start the production of the foundations in the spring of 2020.The first foundations will be installed on a rocky seabed in the spring of 2021 and the project is set for completion in the summer of 2022.The 480 MW wind farm, belonging to EDF Renouvelables and Enbridge, will be built between 12 and 20 km off the Guérande peninsula in western France.

Offshore: New Project Pace Quickens

As the oil and gas industry comes out of the recent downturn, E&P companies are tempted to chase the rewards of higher oil prices by accelerating the sanctioning of new projects.However, haste can lead to less certainty of what the ultimate cost of any given project will be. Projects with high levels of so-called engineering definition are generally expected to remain within about 20% of the initial cost estimates, according to Rystad Energy.“For offshore operators, that means the expected variation for projects to be sanctioned during the period from 2019 to 2023 could be as high as $220 billion,” says Matthew Fitzsimmons, Vice President of Rystad Energy’s Oilfield Service Research division.

Stena RoRo Converts 2 Vessels to SERTICA

The roll on/roll off cargo and passenger services provider Stena RoRo has converted two vessels to SERTICA system, which enables RoRos to work with one supplier and one system - covering maintenance, procurement and safety.Stena RoRo initially signed up to SERTICA Maintenance and Procurement but decided to add the Safety Management System in SERTICA to get full value of the solution.From the day Stena Roro signed the SERTICA contract with Logimatic, they had 5 weeks to convert the existing data from two different systems to SERTICA before a scheduled inspection.Niklas Andersson, Manager Technical Operations at Stena RoRo says, “SERTICA was chosen to enable us to start operating the vessels from early March. Bechtel Bags Rio Grande LNG EPC Deal

US project management services provider Bechtel has won the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts totaling $9.565 billion for the LNG export project developer NextDecade-led Rio Grande liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in the US.The fully wrapped lump-sum turnkey (LSTK) EPC contracts include cost, schedule, and performance guarantees, NextDecade said in its statement.The EPC contracts are for the first phase of the Rio Grande LNG project, which consists of three liquefaction trains, two 180,000 cubic meter storage tanks and two marine berths.Each liquefaction train is expected to have capacity up to 5.87 million tons per annum of LNG…
