Shadowcat Debuts Monohull Support Yacht

Shadowcat expanded its portfolio to include a monohull shadow vessel. Dubbed Shadowolf, this is its first single-hulled support yacht and is available to meet the increasing demand for guest-level comfort and services. The vessel's new hybrid hull design focuses on passenger comfort and accommodation, while still enhancing adventures at sea.Designed by Shadowcat partners Incat Crowther and YCTS, Ltd., the 69.2m Shadowolf offers an 11.5m beam and 3.25m draft, and will be built upon Incat Crowther’s aluminum hull design.Other Shadowolf features include a fully certified helipad and hangar

Meet SHADOWLARK: The $10M Personal Vessel Plus Submarine Package

SHADOWCAT and Triton Submarines have collaborated to develop and introduce a new Launch and Recovery Craft (LARC) dubbed SHADOWLARK. Designed by Incat Crowther, SHADOWLARK is a package priced under $10m for delivery in less than 14 months, a package that includes a 24-m LARC designed to carry a Triton 3300/3 MKII submersible, a submersible designed to comfortably seats three people (pilot and two guests) and dive to depths as great as 1,000m (3,300 ft.) for up to 12 hours.“The submersible market targeting yachting was essentially created by Triton.

DIV Shipbuilding Wins the Deal to Build the 290m Residential Yacht

Ocean Residences Development Ltd. (ORD) has taken the next step in the development of M/Y NJORD, a 290m long residential yacht to be built by DIV Shipbuilding, which owns both Kleven Verft shipyard in Norway and Brodosplit shipyard in Croatia. Benetti Launches First Diamond 145

Italian shipbuilding and Boat building company Benetti has launched the 44.06-meter superyacht Ink as their first addition to the Diamond 145 range at the Viareggio’s Benetti slipway.The 44-meter-long Class category flagship was given its baptism in the sea at an impressive ceremony in front of hundreds of spectators.Welcoming the Authorities, the public, suppliers and all the company’s workers and office staff, Azimut|Benetti Group President Paolo Vitelli spoke of a spectacular launch."Slipway launches are part of the history of Benetti shipyards. AMELS Readies 78-Meter Custom Yacht

The hull of 78-meter AMELS Full Custom yacht arrived from Damen Shipyards Galati on the Danube river in Romania.When completed in 2021, the yacht will be the largest AMELS to date.Currently 13 yachts are at the busy Vlissingen hub of the Damen Shipyards Group’s yachting division, including both the Vlissingen City yard and the Vlissingen East yard.The AMELS Full Custom yacht joins four AMELS Limited Editions yachts, two DAMEN SeaXplorers and five refits.In total we currently have 26 yacht projects underway at both our new build and hull building facilities. Completing all these projects requires expert project management and craftsmanship from everyone involved.In early January the hull of the 78-meter AMELS Full Custom project arrived for outfitting from the hull builder

Custom Line Launches 14 Vessels in 2019

Italian yacht manufacturer Ferretti Group said that its brand Custom Line has achieved its goal of 14 launches in 2019 and of the sale of two Navetta 33s in December alone.Three new launches were held during the last three months at the Ferretti Group’s Superyacht Yard in Ancona: Custom Line 106’ was launched on 28 October, a Navetta 42 on 3 December, and a Navetta 28 took to the water on 12 December.These latest débuts show once again the tremendous commercial success of 28-42 metre Custom Line vessels, the leaders in comfort, technology and design. As many as 14 Custom Line yachts were launched in 2019 at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard

Indonesia: Superyacht Sinking Sparks Global Search

HM Coastguard in the UK was among the agencies joining an international search operation last night (Friday 22 November) after a superyacht sank off Indonesia.At 9.08pm Friday 22nd November, HM Coastguard in the UK received a call from the Australian maritime authority, (JRCC Australia), who had in turn received a HF DSC Distress from what initially appeared to be a UK registered vessel named Asia. Investigations started by searching all relevant databases for contact details for the vessel but the vessel was not found to be on the UK Register. Coastguard coordinators in the UK are able to monitor beacon alerts globally and had noticed that a US registered EPIRB

Sunreef Builds All-Carbon Fibre Yacht

Poland-based super-yacht builder  Sunreef Yachts has announced its plans to construct an all-carbon fibre Sunreef 80 sailing superyacht.The carbon edition of the Sunreef 80 will be delivered in 2020, said the manufacturer of luxury sailing and power catamarans. Its weight-reducing features will also include an in-house built carbon mast and boom."An experienced yachtsman, the Owner decided to build his new craft with Sunreef Yachts after chartering one of the Sunreef 74’s. His yacht’s individually-tailored layout will include spacious accommodation for 11 guests and crew," said a release.Wind-free propulsion will come from two 280HP engines, it said.The Sunreef 80 is an all-around sail yacht model premiered last year and one of the shipyards best-selling catamarans.

Baltic Yachts Builds 117ft Custom Classic

Finland-based boatbuilding yard specialized in sailing yachts, Baltic Yachts has been commissioned to build an advanced composite 117ft Custom Classic sloop from the board of renowned Dutch designers Dykstra Naval Architects.A release from the shipyard said that the yacht has distinctive pilot cutter-style features, including a straight stem, bowsprit, counter stern and deep bulwarks, but a very modern approach to emissions and the environment.There will be a notable emphasis on efficiency with features such as ‘smart’ cabins, designed to automatically minimise power consumption when unoccupied, and air conditioning energy waste re-cycled

Royal Huisman Takes on Holland Jachtbouw Yard

Royal Huisman, a Dutch shipyard that specialises in the building and repair of sailing yachts, said that it will take over the Holland Jachtbouw facility in Amsterdam for further expansion.The facility, which entered the ownership of the Port of Amsterdam on May 14, will now be leased to Royal Huisman, which will dedicate the yard to its future new-build and refit projects."With the arrival of Royal Huisman, the port of Amsterdam has attracted yet another yacht manufacturer with a Royal Charter," said a release from Amsterdam port.Royal Huisman is the second superyacht manufacturer to join the port of Amsterdam community, following Feadship Royal van Lent, which opened its facilities there in 2016.

Heesen's Vida Departs for Maiden Voyage

The 55 metre Heesen superyacht Vida (formerly known as Project Antares) has left Dutch waters for her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean where she will meet her new owners. Vida underwent rigorous sea trials earlier in March. During four days of tests she exceeded her contracted top speed, reaching 16.4 knots with noise and vibration levels that remained in line with specifications."Thanks to her progressive 55-metre FDHF hull and two MTU 8V4000 M63 diesel engines, Vida offers frugal fuel consumption coupled with an efficient underwater profile that enables a remarkable 4,500 nautical mile range at her cruising speed of 13 knots," claimed the Dutch shipyard building superyachts.With a volume of 740 gross tons

DFP: New Florida Yacht Repair & Refit Facility

Earlier this week, after a nearly year-long process, the Ft. Pierce and St. Lucie County and Derecktor Shipyards signed a long-term agreement for the development and operation of a megayacht maintenance, repair and refit facility at the Port.According to Derecktor the new shipyard will be unique in the U.S. as it is reportedly the first facility designed and built specifically toaccommodate power and sailing yachts in the 200 ft. plus range.Derecktor Ft. Pierce (DFP), as the new yard will be known, changes that. It provides direct access from the Atlantic through Ft.
