New Dual Use Piracy Barrier Launched

Guardian Maritime launched Guardian Greenwater, a new product that was developed to deal with the issue of greenwater on-board deck following turbulent weather conditions, but also serves as piracy barrier but . It will be fitted onboard a tanker next month, its first installation. The “Green” threat to oil rig security

... emerging as an issue as alarming as piracy. Last week an oil rig in the Barents Sea hit the headlines after being successfully boarded, stopping drilling for 89 hours at an estimated cost of $1.26million. So who were the boarders; gun toting pirates threating violence and looking to steal? No, this was a “peaceful” protest executed by Greenpeace which saw 15 activists from 8 countries scale and occupy a rig to protest against drilling plans near to the Bear Island Nature Reserve.

Guardian Maritime Ltd. announced the appointment of Jean Winfield as its new Marketing Director, strengthening their worldwide management team. Jean has more than 20 years’ experience in public relations and marketing, with the last 15 years being specifically in maritime having been involved with many shipping companies and events across the globe. GUARDIAN Rebranded under Guardian Maritime

The GUARDIAN brand of antipiracy barriers is restructured under a new company name. With immediate effect, GUARDIAN will now be provided by Guardian Maritime Limited. In taking their whole operation back in-house the original inventors and owners, David and Teresa Stevens, plan to further expand the company, adding to the team and increasing worldwide representation as well as further developing a range of additional antipiracy products. The first real alternative to razor wire, GUARDIAN works by covering a ship’s safety rails with a specially designed barrier.
