ABL Wraps Up Work for FSRU Toscana Project in Italy

Energy and marine consultancy ABL has completed its scope of work as marine warranty surveyor (MWS) to support the successful transport and re-installation of the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Toscana, off the coast of Livorno in Italy.ABL was appointed on this project by OLT Offshore LNG Toscana, the owner of FSRU Toscana.In mid-April 2024, the FSRU Toscana was successfully towed with the support of two tugs, to the port of Genoa, Italy, where it began the first phase of an 'extraordinary maintenance intervention' campaign.

GTT Books FSRU Tank Design Order from Korean Shipyard

French engineering company GTT has received an order from a Korean shipyard for the tank design of a new floating storage regasification unit (FSRU).The FSRU is being built for the Asian shipowner.GTT will design the tanks of this FSRU, with a total capacity of 204,000 m3.The tanks will be fitted with the NO96 GW containment system developed by GTT.The delivery of the vessels is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027.

GTT Wins Tank Design Order for MOL’s FSRU

French engineering company GTT has secured an order from HD Hyundai Heavy Industries for the tank design of a floating storage regasification unit (FSRU).The order was booked in the second quarter of 2024.Korean shipyard HD Hyundai Heavy Industries hired GTT for the tank design of a new FSRU, on behalf of the Japanese ship-owner Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).GTT will design the tanks of this FSRU, with a total capacity of 170,000 m3.The tanks will be fitted with the Mark III membrane containment system developed by GTT.The delivery of the FSRU is scheduled for the third quarter of 2027.

Höegh LNG Strikes Deal to Deploy FSRU Hoegh Galleon in Egypt

Norway-based Höegh LNG has made an agreement with Australian Industrial Energy (AIE) and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) for the deployment of the floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Hoegh Galleon. U.S.-based LNG firm Excelerate Energy has signed a long-term liquefied natural gas (LNG) sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with the Bangladesh Oil, Gas & Mineral Corporation (Petrobangla). Petrobangla has agreed to purchase 0.85 to 1.0 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG from Excelerate for a term of 15 years beginning January 2026. Excelerate will deliver 0.85 MTPA of LNG in 2026 and 2027 and 1 MTPA from 2028 to 2040.Excelerate first opened the Bangladesh market to LNG in 2018 with the development of its integrated Moheshkhali LNG floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) terminal.
