Namdock is Back to Business

Namibian ship repair company Namdock has resumed full operations with effect from Tuesday, in accordance with the inception of stage 2 of Namibia’s national COVID-19 lockdown, which has seen the partial easing of restrictive measures thanks to the recent flattening of the minimal in-country infection curve.“Over the past few weeks we have put strict personal protection and sanitization measures in place, to ensure that we could safely resume full-capacity operations when the time came.

Profab Gets Apsara Gig from KrisEnergy

Southeast Asia-focused oil and gas company KrisEnergy Apsara Co signed a conditional letter of award with PT Profab for the supply of a minimum facilities wellhead “mini-platform” for the Apsara oilfield – Cambodia’s maiden oil development.According to a press note from the Singapore-based parent company KrisEnergy, the scope of work covers key procurement, and the fabrication and construction of the jacket, topsides and other related accessories for the Mini-Platform, including full pre-commissioning and loading onto a barge for transportation.The work will be undertaken at Profab’s facility on Batam Island, Indonesia, it said.The Apsara field in Cambodia Block A lies over the Khmer Basin…

BP Awards Caspian ACG Contracts

Gulf Island Wins Ferry Contract

American manufacturer of marine vessels used in the energy sector, Gulf Island Fabrication Inc. JGC Containers Ready for Moray East OWF

UK engineering company JGC Engineering and Technical Serviceshas, on behalf of Siemens, completed the construction of high voltage equipment containers for the Moray East offshore substation platforms."The Moray East offshore windfarm project completed its first fabrication milestone as the Thurso SME engineering firm finalised work on the containers which will be fitted in the three offshore substation platforms," said a press release from Siemens.JGC fabricated eight of 12 containers at its site in Thurso and have also supported Siemens with other offshore projects in the UK.The containers’ total length, height and volume are larger than an Airbus A380 aircraft which highlights the impressive feat Siemens and JGC have completed together.

Novatek Signs LNG Equipment Deal

The Russian natural-gas company Novatek and Atomenergomash, a mechanical engineering division of the Rosatom State Corporation, have signed a memorandum on strategic partnership and localizing the fabrication of critical equipment for liquefied natural gas (LNG) production.Novatek said that under the memorandum, the two companies will cooperate in the long term to localize the fabrication of pumps, heat exchangers and other equipment for Novatek's LNG projects at Atomenergomash's facilities.The Memorandum notes the results already achieved on the fabrication of coil-wound heat exchangers and medium-tonnage cryogenic pumps, and establishes the obligations of the Parties on design…

The provider tubular solutions for the energy markets Vallourec Soluçoes Tubulares do Brasil has been awarded by TechnipFMC in Brazil to supply around 12,000 tons of seamless steel rigid line pipe with outside diameters 8” and 10”.The pipe will be used in the fabrication of the riser and flowline system for interconnecting 13 wells (6 production wells and 7 water alternate gas injection wells), to be installed in the pre-salt field Mero 1, which is part of the giant Libra reservoir.Libra covers an area of 1,550 square kilometers, equivalent to the size of the Brazilian city of São Paulo, with recoverable reserves estimated in the range of 8 to 12 billion of barrels of oil.The Libra Block has been developed under a consortium agreement with Petrobras (40% share) as operator…

Gulf Island to Build OSU Vessel

Boskalis Wins LNG Modules Contract

Dutch dredging and heavylift company Royal Boskalis Westminster has been awarded a contract for the transportation of a large number of modules for a North American LNG export facility.The contract value amounts to approximately USD 55 million with additional options for extensions, worth up to USD 30 million, a press release said.The scope of work includes the logistical management and transportation of various large modules from a fabrication yard in China to the facility in North America. Keppel Wins New Marine Contracts

Singaporean conglomerate  Keppel Offshore & Marine said that it has secured new marine contracts with a combined value of S$300 million (USD 220 mln) through its subsidiaries. According to a press release from the company, the first contract is by Keppel Singmarine with Shturman Koshelev LLC for the design and construction of an ice-class LNG bunker vessel. When completed in 4Q 2020, the vessel will be chartered to Gazpromneft Marine Bunker Ltd (Gazpromneft) for operations in the Baltic Sea. Heerema Fabrication Group Sells UK and Netherlands Yards

Dutch offshore construction and engineering company Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) intends to divest a significant part of its activities in the field of design and fabrication of complex steel constructions for the offshore market.HFG has been struggling for some time with insufficient project volume and marginal profitability. In addition, the risks associated with building topsides are high and clients are not prepared to pay for this risk.As a result of the divestment HFG intends to dispose of its activities at the locations in Zwijndrecht (The Netherlands) and Hartlepool (United Kingdom). The intended restructuring will see the closure of HFG’s head office in The Netherlands.
