Auramarine Expands in South Korea
Auramarine, a provider of fuel supply systems for the marine, power and process industries, signed a representative agreement with Specs Corporation Ltd., a Korean marine equipment and services provider to expand and strengthen the company’s presence in the South Korean maritime market.Specs will serve as an official Auramarine sales representative for its fuel supply units, including its conventional systems, as well as its specialist solutions for methanol and ammonia, and will be applicable for newbuildings, retrofits, commissioning and maintenance services.

Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co. to Build Two CO2 Carriers for Norwegian Northern Lights Project
Chinese shipbuilder Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co. has won a contract to build two CO2 carriers for Northern Lights, a Norwegian carbon capture and storage project.Under the contract awarded by the Northern Lights JV, owned equally by Equinor, Shell and TotalEnergies, the Chinese shipbuilder will build two CO2 carriers, each with a cargo size of 7,500 m3 and a length of 130 meters.The two vessels, designed to transport liquid CO2 with purpose-built pressurized cargo tanks, are expected to be ready for delivery by mid-2024. The primary fuel for the ships will be LNG, keeping emissions low.

SKF to Double Marine Stabilizer Production Capacity
In response to growing demand from the cruise liner, large ferry and exploration vessel sectors, SKF has upgraded its marine stabilizer production facilities in Hamburg, Germany. The new investments include a 130-metric-ton capacity heavy duty overhead crane, two new assembly stations for large stabilizers and additional production space dedicated to the manufacture of smaller units. The expanded facilities will allow SKF to increase production of its largest S800 stabilizer system from eigth to sixteen sets a year.

For the supply of oil and gas, for example, many kilometers of pipelines are installed above and below deck. To optimize the limited space available inside the ship, the bending radii of these pipes must be kept very tight. Wärtsilä Environmental Efficiency for Hybrid UK Ferry
A new ferry being built at the Cemre shipyard in Turkey for UK operator Wightlink will feature a comprehensive range of modern Wärtsilä equipment and systems to ensure a high level of environmental efficiency. In addition to conventional fuel, the new vessel will be the first ferry to utilzse Wärtsilä hybrid battery technology to improve efficiency, reduce the exhaust emissions and lower the noise level. The scope includes four 6-cylinder Wärtsilä 20 generating sets, electrical and automation (E&A) systems, and a sanitary discharge system.

Evac's Total Waste Management for Atlantic Mercy
The global cleantech company Evac has been chosen to supply its total waste management system to the world’s largest civilian hospital ship, the Atlantic Mercy. Owned and operated by the nonprofit Mercy Ships, the ship will provide medical care in the poorest parts of Africa. Affordable Acoustic Range for Harbour Surveillance
The Universal Acoustic Range and Processor (UARP) was developed to address the need for a reliable low cost method to provide harbor surveillance of surface and subsurface vessels. This turn-key system employs an ultra thin line array and passive sonar processor for the detection and tracking of surface ships and underwater vehicles.
