SHI taps GTT for Tank Design of a new LNG Vessel
GTT received an order from Korean shipyard Samsung Heavy Industries for the tank design of a new LNG carrier. The vessel will feature a total capacity of 180,000-cu.m. and will be fitted with GTT’s Mark III Flex membranecontainment system. Delivery of the vessel is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.

St. Johns Ship Building, owned by Americraft Marine, signed a contract with Hal Jones Contractor, a Division of Vecellio & Grogan, Inc., to build a 150 x 60 x 8-ft. Spud Barge. The Spud Barges, built to support various marine construction and operations, will serve in Hal Jones Contractor’s fleet.
GDMS inks $800m Deal for US Navy Torpedoes
General Dynamics Mission Systems was awarded a fixed-price-incentive, firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, and cost-only contract from the U.S. Navy in December for up to $808.6 million to produce MK 54 MOD 1 Lightweight Torpedo Kits and related test equipment, spares, provisioned item orders, engineering support and hardware support for the MK 54 Lightweight Torpedo Program. H-Line to Outfit 30 Vessels with Autonomous Nav Tech

Avikus, HD Hyundai’s Autonomous Navigation Technology subsidiary, secured an order for its HiNAS Control autonomous navigation solutions, inking a contract with H-Line Shipping. H-Line plans to first apply HiNAS Control to five vessels to validate its safety and efficiency, with the intention to expand its deployment to as many as 30 vessels by next year. The signing ceremony was attended by Sung-joon Kim, CEO of HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering, Do-hyeong Lim, CEO of Avikus, and Myung-deuk Seo, CEO of H-Line Shipping.
Glamox Inks Deal for Suez Canal Salvage Vessels

Glamox won a contract from Alexandria Shipyard in Egypt to light two new salvage tugs being built for the Suez Canal Authority. The two new tugs will sport Glamox LED floodlights and searchlights, helping to enable the vessels to work around the clock, as well as navigation lights, and indoor lighting. The design specification and equipment for the powerful tugs are provided by Kongsberg Maritime.The 71.6m vessels will be built to Kongsberg’s UT 722 CDT design, and each will be equipped with approximately 780 marine-certified lights from Glamox.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for design and development proposals for its electric patrol craft, as part of efforts to decarbonize and digitalize maritime operations.In addition to meeting MPA’s operational requirements, the designs must include safety features such as advanced battery management systems, secure battery compartments to maintain fire, gastight, and watertight integrity, and intelligent cooling systems for optimal thermal management.
LNG Ship-to-Ship Transfer off UK a Success

James Fisher Fendercare said it completed the first liquefied natural gas (LNG) STS transfer off the coast of Southwold, UK, for an energy major.The operation was to support a gas-up / cool-down service for an LNG carrier coming out of dry dock in readiness for her next voyage. This specialized operation involves removing the inert gas from the vessel’s storage tanks by transferring LNG to slowly reduce their temperature, to -162C, so that the tanks are ready to safely load new cargo.

Incat Crowther has been commissioned by Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation to design a new 300-passenger, high-speed catamaran for US operator Yankee Freedom.The new vessel, Yankee Freedom IV, will replace the 250-passenger Yankee Freedom III, which was also designed by Incat Crowther. Wärtsilä’s Inks Deal for Supplies on Four new LPG Ships

Wärtsilä will supply the cargo handling and fuel supply systems for four new 40,000 m3 gas carrier vessels. The ships are being built at the CIMC SinoPacific Offshore & Engineering (SOE) shipyard in China for Norwegian shipowner Avance Gas. The Wärtsilä LPG Fuel Supply System (LFSS) is a system that enables the use of LPG as fuel. This increases operational efficiency and supports environmental sustainability.These will be the first medium sized LPG carrier vessels built at the SOE yard.

Petrobras awarded Radix a contract to develop projects for floating production, storage, and offloading vessels (FPSOs). The agreement will last 31 months, with services estimated at $11.5 million. The contract includes developing multidisciplinary engineering projects using digital automation tools for the state-owned company's new assets. General Dynamics NASSCO, a subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) won a contract by the U.S. Navy for the maintenance, modernization and repair of USS Chung-Hoon (DDG 93) and USS James E. Williams (DDG 95).
