Sea1 to Manage Viking Supply Ships' AHTS Fleet

Sweden-based Viking Supply Ships on Tuesday announced plans to outsource the management of its six anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels to Sea1 Offshore, based in Norway.The management agreements are scheduled to be completed in October 2024, subject to final documentation and required approvals, the company said.The six AHTS vessels include Magne Viking, Odin Viking, Loke Viking, Njord Viking, Brage Viking and Andreas Viking, all with ice class notations and built from 2011 through 2013.

Bourbon, Opsealog Form Digital Partnership to Cut OSV Fleet Emissions

Multraship Christens New Damen ASD Tug

Multraship Towage & Salvage has christened its newest tug, Multratug 35, at its home port of Terneuzen, the Netherlands.The vessel is a Damen ASD Tug 3212. Solstad Scoops $7M for Two AHTS Vessels

Norwegian vessel owner Solstad Offshore has sold two anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, securing a profit of approximately $7.1 million for the transaction.The AHTS vessels, Far Sound and Far Scimitar, have been in layup in Asia since 2016 and 2018.Fars Sound is a 2007-built AHTS, with the length of 78.1 meters and of UT 712 L design.Far Scimitar is of the same design, with 78.3 length. It was built in 2008.The sale was made through Solstad Reder, a wholly owned subsidiary of Solstad Maritime Holding.Delivery of the vessels to the new owner took place on February 23, 2024.

As 2023 is drawing to a close we would once again invite the readers of Offshore Engineer Magazine to gaze into our crystal ball to see what 2024 might have in store for the offshore support vessel industry. Solstad Offshore's subsidiary, Solstad Rederi, has sold the Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel Nor Spring.The 2008-built, 70-meter-long AHTS vessel has been in layup in Asia since 2020. Perdana Nautika Wins AHTS Vessel Contract

Malaysia's Perdana Petroleum's subsidiary, Perdana Nautika, has secured a contract for the provision of an anchor handling, Tug, and Supply (“AHTS”) vessel to RMS Synergy.The contract started on June 13, 2023, and has a 60-day duration. The contract is valued at around RM4.3 million (currently around $944,328).Perdana Nautica said it would provide an AHTS vessel with crews and equipment to perform a continuous service "for the purpose of assisting on the project activities."Perdana did not say what kind of project activities exactly the vessel would be supporting, nor which vessel exactly was deployed for the contract with the offshore support service provider RMS Synergy.
