Aker Yards to Build Tankers for Maritima

Aker Yards has signed a contract for the construction of two bunkering tankers for delivery in October 2008 and January 2009. The two vessels will be sister vessels to those ordered by Maritima in August 2006. The two merchant vessels will be built at Aker Yards in Braila, Romania and were ordered by Maritima in France. Maritima is owned by Compagnie Fluviale de Transport (CFT), a French leading company in European river transport, specializing in bunkering for ocean-going vessels. Total value of the order is approximately $29.9m. The contract also includes an optional agreement for another two sister vessels.
