Marinette Marine Corp. To Launch U.S. Navy Vessel Marinette Marine Corp. launched the U.S. Navy's Barracks Craft (APL-65) into the Menominee River at a ceremony on October 30. The vessel, which was christened and launched in memory of the late Roger Derusha who served as president and CEO of Marinette from 1970-1991 and as chairman from 1974-1999. Sponsored by Derusha's late wife, Marilyn, the vessel is part of a two-part $32.5 million contract that was awarded to Marinette by the Navy in 1998.
The orderbook for U.S. dredgers is about $3B, and according to DCA CEO Bill Doyle, the incoming political administration could help this niche maritime sector continue its bull run.
