Härter Takes Over as CEO of ZF Marine

Effective September 1, 2014, Daniel Härter assumes the responsibility as CEO of ZF Marine Propulsion Systems. Härter will be based out of ZF Marine’s headquarters in Padova, Italy. Benz has been promoted to the Head of Corporate Key Account Management at the global ZF Group level. Härter comes to ZF Marine from ZF’s Industrial Technology Division in Passau, Germany where he previously held the position of Vice President Materials Management.

Härter completed his studies in Business Administration at the University Friedrich-Alexander in Erlangen-Nurnberg and started his professional career in 2000 at Robert Bosch GmbH. In 2003 Härter joined ZF Passau GmbH within the Commercial Vehicle Axle Systems business unit as Head of Product Management, Cost Planning and SBU Controlling. In the following years Härter took over Project Management of a major machinery axle project, and then assumed the position of Head of Product Line Management –Machinery Axles. Since 2010 Härter has overseen all purchasing activities for ZF Passau GmbH, and in 2011 became Vice President of Materials Management for the Industrial Technology Division.

In assuming this new position, Härter sees his role as continuing the momentum of the ZF Marine business unit that was established by his predecessor, and secure the company’s long term growth strategy. Given Härter’s previous experience, his focus will be on continuous innovation, quality, cost position, and customer satisfaction. His ties into the overall industrial Technology division will assist in the continued development of synergies with and adoption of established best practices from the global ZF Group in all facets of the business.
