Green Product Award for Propane Gas Outboard Manufacturer

LEHR, Inc., win the "Green Product of the Year" award from West Marine for the world's first OEM propane powered boat motors.

Lehr is the first vendor to win both West Marine's Green Product Contest, awarded at the Miami Boat Show, and their merchandising VIV (Very Important Vendor) award for Green Product of the Year.

The application of LEHR's technology to a marine solution is both timely and critical for the plant and its water supply.  Propane has long been recognized as a "green" energy source that reduces emissions, protects the environment and reduces our dependence on foreign oil.

The highly anticipated LEHR propane outboards have an overall lower cost of operation than current gasoline powered models - not only saving the environment but also saving boaters money.  The first two engines are 2.5 HP and 5 HP with higher HP models to be released in the future.

The LEHR products have taken the marine industry by storm, garnering several awards.  Upon their initial release at the Miami Boat Show earlier this year, they received the Green Product of the Year Award from West Marine as well as the Environmental Award from the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

"LEHR paints a bright future for the boating industry evolution with their ongoing commitment to boating ingenuity necessary to the future of the industry," said Zuzana Prochazka, Innovation Awards judge.
