Aida Cruises is now using the "Ship Administration Management System (SAMS)" of Ms Logistik Systeme, a subsidiary of Germanischer Lloyd, for all ships of the AIDA fleet, including the newbuildings "AIDAdiva" and her sister ships. SAMS permits comprehensive management of the ship for the areas of technology, ship operation and crew. Over 200 ships worldwide are already being administrated by SAMS. AIDA Cruises is the first customer from the cruise shipping segment.
SAMS covers the primary areas of Technical Management, Crew Management and Ship Management with a total of 17 application programs (modules). For example, the SAMS Port Clearance Module considerably reduces the time needed to prepare all the necessary port documents, while increasing their quality and accuracy. With the aid of SAMS, shipowners and managers can increase the availability of their ships, reduce downtime and repairs, and also optimize the procurement and stocking of spare parts - thus reducing the administrative effort and trimming the costs.
Network-compatible shipboard and office versions are available. The datasets are synchronized to the scope required by the customer, so that the volume of data to be exchanged as e-mail attachments can be optimized.
